Disconnect from the Fray and Return to Ease

Much around us all is swirling in intensity and I’ve had some emails asking how to not |become stressed and anxious with what’s happening around us. When you are notice that things are heating up around you (this may come from  other people in their actions, words, or overall “vibe”), and you start to feel uncomfortable, just take a step back.

Sometimes, literally, you need to step away, but you can step back emotionally as well. |This pulling back creates a disconnection that can help return you to ease when you’re experiencing anxiety and stress.
So, today I’d thought I’d offer a couple of my favorite tips to disconnect from the fray (if you start to feel overwhelmed) and return to feeling centered and calm.
Tip #1: Go outside. I know, you probably think that’s my answer for everything. I think it is! Nature is a healing force and the calming effects upon our nervous systems are just about instantaneous. If you can’t make it outside when feelings of unease start to encroach upon your wellbeing, see if you can look out a window at a tree. You can even close your eyes and see your favorite tree in your mind’s eye.
Tip #2: Breathe. To take yourself out of the stress response (the sympathetic nervous system) and into a more relaxed state (the parasympathetic nervous system), simply make your exhalation a little longer than your inhalation. For example, if you inhale over a count of three, then exhale over a count of 5. A couple of repetitions and you will probably notice you feel calmer.

Tip #3: Listen to music
. Music, too, can calm the central nervous system when it’s overly stimulated. Pick music that has a beat of 76 beats per minute or less. You want to pick a beat that matches your heart beat or is a little slower. My favorite is “Claire de Lune” by Debussy. Here’s a link:

This piece connects me deeply with my heart space and I feel calm and centered.

Lately I’ve been listening to this piece published by the Meditative Mind. When I’m writing |and find myself easily distracted, I listen to this track with headphones. I feel fabulous |afterwards listening to it. Here’s the description by Meditative Mind:

This track features All 9 Solfeggio Frequencies for Full Body Aura Cleanse & Cell Regeneration Therapy. Each Miracle Tone here serves a certain purpose and helps in detoxifying and cleansing the body and mind. Each frequency lasts for around 9 mins starting from 174Hz known as natural anesthetic and moving all the way up to 963Hz which is associated with pineal gland activation. Hope this will help you.

I hope any or all of these help to create some ease when you need some extra assistance.
Much love,
