Carolyn S. Barnes, LMT

Carolyn is an integrative health coach (certified by Institute for Integrative Nutrition), writer, speaker, John Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach advanced level therapist, and the author of Return to Ease: Gently Reconnect with Your Body’s Natural Mobility and Joy.

She writes and speaks from a personal place — her own journey of healing and opening to inner wisdom. Her mission at Return to Ease Wellness Center is to help clients create and experience more health, ease, and joy in their lives.

Carolyn graduated from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in 2002, and holds a BA in philosophy, with a minor in music, from Wittenburg University.

In fact, although Carolyn has not spent her entire career involved in the health and wellness industry, her love and study of music planted the seed for her journey to being a healing professional. While studying for a year at the Brussels Conservatory of Music in Belgium, Carolyn was exposed to a more natural approach to medicine.

That experience inspired her years later to go back to school and become a therapeutic massage therapist.

“As a health coach and professional massage therapist, I take great pride and passion in providing you with excellent and personalized care.  My practice is dedicated to offering you the highest standard and quality of care.  I dedicate many hours each year to continuing education and the honing of my skills. My Return to Ease Wellness Center is a beautiful, serene space designed entirely for your comfort and healing. It is my belief that the best way to optimal health is to be proactive and attentive to your well-being.”

It’s rare for anyone to get an hour to explore their wellness goals with a trained professional. As an Integrative Health Coach, Carolyn creates a supportive environment that enables you to articulate and achieve your goals.

Throughout her education, she has been exposed to the most cutting-edge dietary theories and studied highly effective coaching techniques to help you find the right lifestyle that works best for you. She uses a holistic approach to wellness and believes that in addition to food, healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual practice help create a more balanced lifestyle.

Most approaches to healthy eating dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, Carolyn coaches her clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes . As these pieces accumulate, her clients find these changes collectively creating a much larger impact than they originally anticipated.

Carolyn believes everything feeds our spirit including how we think, what we experience and what we eat. She empowers her clients and believes everyone should know their brilliance and enjoy life!
